Our Instructors
All our instructors are friendly, highly qualified and passionate about Pilates.  Your teacher will assess your body, tailor a programme for you and teach you to perform the excercises correctly, making them as gentle or as challenging as required.

Rosie Toon - Owner of Pilates Works
Rosie has been working as a Pilates instructor since 2004 and opened South Gloucestershire’s first Pilates studio.  Her enthusiasm and passion for Pilates is infectious, inspiring hundreds of men and women to take up the exercise.
 
Rosie is also a Chartered Physiotherapist with more than 20 years experience. She has specific expertise in back and sports injuries and has treated elite sports men and women using Pilates to speed rehabilitation and improve performance.
 
Rosie’s physiotherapy background allows her to adopt a holistic approach in her teaching, in particular the role of Pilates in the relief of back pain.

Philippa Satchwell - Matwork and Equipment Teacher

Philippa Satchwell - Physiotherapist
Philippa is a Chartered Physiotherapist with more than 25 years experience in the Health and Fitness Industry. She first came across the Pilates Method whilst working in Occupational Health and running a Corporate Fitness Facility.
 
Recognising the far reaching benefits, she trained to teach Pilates in 1999. She is now a senior member of the Body Control Pilates teacher training team, presenting in the UK and abroad.
 
Her clients range from elite sportsmen, to those looking for a way to manage chronic back pain.

Julia Hindley - Body Control Pilates Matwork Teacher
From a background of dance and movement, Julia found Pilates whilst seeking dance classes for herself.
 
Finding that Pilates was a way to continue moving, maintaining strength and flexibility she became completely hooked and decided to train to teach and qualified as a Pilates teacher in 2007.
 
Julia continues to enjoy walking, mountain biking and dance, now with the knowledge that Pilates will keep her body in a condition to continue these things for the rest of her life. Julia enjoys teaching Pilates with an emphasis on movement and choreography to challenge the mind as well as the body.
